課程概述

This course focuses on strategic role of information systems (IS) in modern organisations. This course assists students to make sense of various IS strategies and how such strategies have been succeed or failed in the global marketplace. Topics of the course includes concepts of IS strategies, global IT issues, information goods, online market mechanism, outsourcing and IT/business alignment.

On completion of this course a student should be able to:

1. Understand the concept of information systems strategy

2. Acquire knowledge of impacts of IS on business strategy

3. Understand the influence of technological changes on the global and electronic marketplace

Student will formulate a group of 5 students. Each group will prepare an oral presentation (20 minutes) and a white paper (5-8 single-space pages). In preparing for this project, you need to assume that you are an entrepreneur developing a high value IT-enabled business proposal.
